Since its formation in 1964, Meridian Electrical has established a large and varied client base, covering a wide spectrum of activities. It has achieved this by providing a complete service package from the initial design stage through to the final installation of all types of electrical services. We are specialists within specific sectors of the industry, which often brings new clients through recommendation.

The company has carried out installation and refurbishment works to petrol filling stations, retail and commercial properties throughout the UK for over 35 years and during this period we have been actively involved with carrying out installations works for many of the leading brands.

We currently carry out planned and reactive maintenance works for Shell petrol filling stations on behalf of Johnson Controls International.

We have carried out all of the LPG installations on petrol filling stations throughout the UK for Autogas Limited. This is a joint venture between Shell and Calor Gas and we are currently carrying out all installation, planned and reactive maintenance works to all of their sites.

The company is an accredited member of the NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation and Maintenance) including Hazardous Area Certification for which Meridian were actively involved in the Pilot Scheme for this Accreditation. We are also a Bonded Member of the ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) which guarantees that we provide the best quality of workmanship and the appropriate levels of technical competence. This Bonded Membership affords our clients with a Warranty Bond.

Codes of Practice.

As well as the above accreditations we are also members of the Energy Institute, the LP Gas Association and the APEA.

We have a staff of registered electrical engineers who ensure that all work conforms to the many complex regulations, such as Comp"Ex"07/08 and the many other requirements associated with these types of installations.

Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Clearance Certificates, etc are always issued prior to commencements of all works.
Health & Safety.

The company takes all Health and Safety issues seriously and to this end all operatives undergo appropriate Health & Safety training on a regular basis and carry Personal Identity Cards along with their CSCS Cards and UK/Pia Safety Passports.
External H&S advice and support is available to us via Hascom through our ECA Membership and we have also attained H&S Contractor Plus Accreditation via SM&MS, who are external H&S Consultants for one of our clients. We are CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) Compliant, having successfully passed their Prequalification Assessment, which was a prerequisite to us becoming a Registered Member of Constructionline (A Public Private Partnership between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Capita).

We are always prepared to work with our clients to maintain good Health & Safety standards and take the initiative wherever possible.
