Totemic Ltd is a financial services company. We specialise in personal financial management and offer a wide range of products and services including insurances; mortgage and debt advice.

From the start we have always made sure that Totemic is a great place to work. Many companies say that people are their greatest asset but at Totemic we really live those values every day. This is why our employees have rated us highly enough to be in the Times Top 100 companies to work for five years running. We feel that this is a real achievement as we have grown so much in the last 5 years – more than doubling in size!

There are three things that make us such a good place to work; our commitment to our employees" best interests; our rewards for hard work and our commitment to treating our clients fairly and building great relationships with them.

Our employee"s best interests are at the heart of all that we do. We have a pension scheme that you don"t even need to contribute to – we"ll still pay into it for you! We have personal trainers to work with employees to make sure that they reach their health and fitness potential – we even subsidise a running club to go round the world competing in half marathons, this year they have been to Vienna, Stockholm and Lanzarote to run and many more in this country. In 2009 we started an amazing team building program – we sent our staff to Sicily to learn how to sale yachts, in 2010 we repeated this in the Algarve and in 2011 Sardinia and Corsica. The Totemic sailing academy has been born and we look forward to it continuing for many years. It is incredibly popular with the staff, giving them the chance to bond with colleagues, learn a new skill and spend time out of the office in the sunshine! This is all paid for by the company and those lucky enough to go don"t even need to take the time as holiday. We don"t think that many companies can match that! We also say thank you throughout the year with our Summer Fun Day (boat racing and BBQ at Rutland Water) and our Christmas party (3 course meal and free bar) which have become quite legendary.

It has always been one of the company"s core beliefs that hard work should be rewarded. We have sent staff to New York and Australia as thanks for their efforts. Every staff member was given a Christmas bonus this year as well as a cost of living salary increase at a time when most companies are freezing pay. Each quarter the employee who submitted the best idea to the project management team was given vouchers or a meal for two as their reward. As your length of service increases we will give you higher pension contributions, more holidays and we"ll even buy you some champagne to celebrate. We are also extremely proud to say that we are one of the best employers for progression and development, our Personal Development Academy is at the fore front of training techniques and all employees have the option to sign up for the courses they run. It"s no wonder our staff turnover is so low, people love to work here!

When we started we wanted to make sure that we would never judge anyone and that we would treat every client with the respect they deserve. This has been key to our growth and success. By working this way we have helped thousands of people and ensured that we have a pleasant environment for our employees. We never underestimate the value of great customer service. A great relationship between advisor and client makes for a less stressful and more friendly process.
