Hours per week: Variable Shift Rota - 42 hours per week

Role Overview

We are currently seeking skilled Hospital Security Officers to join our team at York Hospital. Candidates must hold a valid SIA license and possess strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our hospital premises and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular patrols of York Hospital premises to deter trespassing and maintain security of entry points, including doors, windows, and gates.
- Promptly respond to alarms and distress calls.
- Monitor and authorize access for employees, visitors, and other individuals to prevent theft and maintain premises security, following hospital protocols.
- Enforce hospital regulations and procedures.
- Vigilantly observe and report any suspicious activity or individuals to the appropriate authorities.
- Provide assistance and excellent customer service to patients and visitors as needed.


About You:

- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
- Proven experience working as a Hospital Security Officer.
- Valid SIA license.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work on a flexible shift pattern, including weekends and night shifts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent observation and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
