Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Support and maintenance of SQL Server databases
Providing support to the application development team for review of SQL, stored procedures, database structures and processes
Develop reports in the IBM Cognos BI reporting system
Integration of different business systems to form automated data flows
Disaster recovery design, planning and testing. Supervision of system backups
Performance Monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning
Managing the security of database systems and working with security auditors where required
Perform day to day system administration (such as user creation, disk configuration, troubleshooting, etc.) of both SQL Server and reporting systems
Support of Business System applications such as CRM, Customer Service Management Systems, HR, Business Intelligence, Document Management, and customer facing web applications
To maintain comprehensive records detailing changes made to the CTS Business System Software
To ensure all work is carried out with reference to CTS IT department work instructions and standards following industry best practice
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them
Some manual handling may be required
The candidate may be required to occasionally work on other sites
Providing support, including out-of-hours support in critical incidents and participation in an on-call support rota. The on-call support responsibility is typically a whole week at a time and is one week in six. Holidays must be arranged around on-call support responsibilities. Typically, one or two out of hours calls are raised per week. On call allowance is included in the basic salary and a fixed call out fee is paid per incident. Own transport and driving licence is required as part of the out-of-hours support
