Job Description

Applications are being taken for the position of Legal Cashier for a large Legal firm based in Central southampton. the ideal candidate will have held a similar role previously and be able to work of part of a cashiering team.

New Full Time Position

The individual will help organize and provide the large, friendly cashiering team supporting the finance function for the Firm. The work is varied, and time pressured. You will assist and communicate with the Team Manager in ensuring that all cashier functions are fully up-to-date and are run smoothly and effectively and any housekeeping done, including refresher training where necessary for cashiers. You will also help in implementing new processes/systems as and when required by the Team Manager. It will also be part of your remit to provide cover for the Credit Control Function during periods of holiday and sickness. You will need to be flexible in respect of working extra hours to meet deadlines, especially for month/year end reporting.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Previous legal cashiering experience is preferred
• Good working knowledge of SAR’s
• Experience in use of Artiion and Proclaim (legal accounts software)
• Fast and accurate keyboard skills are essential
• Ensuring that all monies are accurately and completely recorded and dealt with on a timely basis and that full compliance is achieved with all Statutory and Regulatory Bodies
• Good communication skills
• Confident, flexible and reliable
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with a professional and diligent approach and attitude
• Good knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Self motivated and require minimum supervision.
• Work well within a team and have excellent organisation skills
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping
