Location: Kitling Road, Prescott, Knowsley

Pay Rate: GBP15.67

Hours per week: Variable Shift Rota - 18:00 - 06:00 - 40 hours per week (4 on 4 off)

Job Overview

The Team Leader is responsible for the coordination of the production process in which they operate, providing first line supervision including managing attendance and performance of the team and individuals within the team.

At all times, the Team Leader will manage and, if necessary, be involved into all day to day activities in adherence to all departmental procedures in a timely manner to ensure that production process is never compromised.

Additionally, the Team Leader is expected to work flexibly across the Newsprinters operations and as part of a team to meet the business needs. The Team Leader is expected to promote, support and implement business strategy and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with supervision to oversee and maintain production processes, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures.
- Maintain production performance levels and support teams in achieving targets.
- Manage team scheduling and cover breaks to meet production needs.
- Facilitate cross-training initiatives.
- Monitor and review production performance, providing reports as needed.
- Offer guidance and support to teams, managing materials, records, and workplace cleanliness.
- Lead problem-solving efforts within the team and report technical faults as necessary.
- Ensure departmental quality standards are met and maintained.
- Supervise workplace cleanliness and uphold health and safety standards.
- Contribute to the development of safe practices and continuous improvement.
- Maintain Health & Safety policies and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee product quality and adherence to standards.
- Ensure team members perform required quality checks and adapt to changes as needed.
- Facilitate effective communication channels and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist in identifying and planning training and development needs.
- Support individual professional development plans.
- Participate in training activities to enhance role performance.
- Assist in trials and development of new products and practices.
- Act as a supervisor in their absence as required.
- Promote teamwork principles for maximum efficiency.
- Exercise operational judgment within guidelines.
- Assist in disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Foster a results-driven culture aligned with company objectives.
- Coordinate staff, financial, and equipment resources efficiently.
- Complete administrative tasks such as staff timesheets.


About You:
