To enable our storage customers the option of using a self drive van to bring their items to our storage centres we established 'Admiral Self Drive' this is now a successful vehicle rental company specialising in van and minibus hire. We're members of various associations such as the Self Storage Association and National Guild of Removers and Storers. Job Description

As a Self Storage Advisor, you will be an ‘All-rounder’ - primarily advising and selling storage space, you will be the first point of contact for our customers and are, therefore, crucial to delivering an excellent customer experience. Having previous experience within the Storage, Removals, or Vehicle hire sectors or having gained experience at a similar level in the retail or sales sectors, you will be enthusiastic, adaptable, highly motivated, and able to work on your own initiative. You will also be computer literate and possess confident communication skills. The role is ideally suitable for a local person or you will need to live within 20 minutes travelling time of the Walsall store and hold a full driving licence.
Flexibility is vital - This role is based in Walsall but may also require applicants to work at our Birmingham storage centre to cover annual leave and sickness absence.
A fork-lift truck licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
Experience of selling items on eBay would also be an advantage.
Our storage centres operate 7 days per week (weekdays: 8am – 7pm, Saturdays 8am - 5pm and Sundays 12pm - 4pm) applicants will be required to work shifts that include weekends.

The following summary is a general outline of some of the daily tasks the successful applicants can expect:

• Advising and selling storage and associated products to potential customers*
• Showing potential customers around the storage centre
• Accepting deliveries on behalf of customers
• Order picking and stocktaking
• Preparing customer contracts
• General Housekeeping ensuring the premises are kept clean and tidy

*No telesales or cold-calling

These are new positions and the hours are subject to change, we expect but cannot guarantee increasing these posts to full-time in the future; this will very much depend upon the aptitude of the individual successful candidates.

Salary: Negotiable – salary will depend upon experience
Hours: 20 - 30 per week (2 vacancies, shifts apply)
