Job Description

We are looking for an innovative, customer focused and commercially astute Technical Sales Engineer to help our client achieve ambitious plans for growth. You will seek out and develop long-lasting relationships with multinational blue chip customers who require special purpose machinery to provide automated production solutions.

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a talented Technical Sales Engineer. You will apply your in-depth understanding of engineering, manufacturing methods and CNC machining to conceptualise, propose and deliver automation solutions. Key responsibilities include:

• Effectively communicating and liaising with blue-chip customers in a wide range of industries.

• Develop long-term relationships through an in-depth understanding of customer requirements.

• Creatively arrive at practical automation solutions.

• Manage the preparation of successful high-value proposals and estimates for complete automated machines and their commissioning.


Candidate Requirements:

With relevant qualifications and a sound Engineering, Manufacturing and Machine Shop background, you will demonstrate the ability to seek out and win profitable business with customers in a wide range of industries. You will help to conceptualise and deliver bespoke automated production solutions. Your profile will also display the following attributes:

• A good understanding of special purpose machinery, engineering principles, manufacturing / machining processes, times & techniques.

• Have relevant engineering qualifications (apprenticeship or HNC minimum requirement).

• Show strong communication skills at all levels up to director level.

• Be capable of identifying and maximising sales and business development opportunities.

• Display a clear understanding of automation principles developed from a previous design engineering, production, planning or project management role.

• A track record of market development and growing business.

• Strong presentation and networking skills.

• Ability to manage differing / conflicting priorities.
