Position: Full Time, Immediate Start

Salary: GBP23,000 to GBP27,000 /year

Human Resources Officer

Our client is a leading manufacturer and they`re looking for a Human Resources Officer to be responsible for all transactional HR processes across the business, supporting and guiding line managers to ensure that HR policies are followed. Actively supports the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.

Main duties/key tasks


- Support the Talent Specialist with the preparation of job descriptions when required.
- Support the Talent specialist to carry out checks for pre-employment records
- Produce contracts of employment and new starter information paperwork
- Liaise with payroll to ensure new starters, leavers and variances are processed for payment.
- Working with the Head of HR and Talent Specialist support the creation of effective onboarding plans, including the delivery of the company`s new employee induction meetings.


- Working with the Head of HR support the development of training and development programmes for the business.


- Provide advice and guidance to line managers on policies and procedures
- Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
- Ensure employment and working conditions meet legal compliance
- Coach line managers on appropriate HR process to resolve people issues
- Contribute to the review of updating of all policies and procedures in the HR and administrative area


- Assist with the performance management processes, by creating PIPs that specify turnaround requirements.
- Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues, coaching line managers to achieve results.

Transactional HR and KPIs:

- Maintain weekly employee metrics as requested by the Head of HR
- Input employee data into the HR database and maintain accurate records of all HR information being mindful of GDPR legislation.
- Produce timely reports that assist the team to manage probation reviews, return to work interviews and long term absences.

General Administration:

- General office administration including filing, telephone messages and dealing with general enquiries from visitors to the office
- Provide support for reception and hospitality for the business when requested
- Maintain complete confidentiality and work within agreed customer service levels
- Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by your line manager.

Person specification

- Professional CIPD HR qualifications at level 5, must be able to demonstrate they have a depth of knowledge in all areas of transactional HR.
- At least 4 years` experience in general HR dealing with a wide range of issues
- Microsoft office skills and admin experience
