Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 /year dependent on experience

What we are looking for!

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and conscientious Service Technician to join our customer service driven organisation. The ideal candidate should have previous experience of providing a quality installation and maintenance service with additional call out experience being advantageous.

In addition, excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong analytical and problem solving abilities are key, as there will be regular and ongoing contact with both external and internal customers.

You will be responsible for:

- To provide a quality and efficient routine maintenance and call-out service to sites as instructed by the Customer Support Department - ensuring the Health and Safety of branch personnel and members of the public at all times.
- To provide installation services as instructed by Safetell`s Project Department at the Service Resource Manager`s discretion.
- To report fully the nature and extent of work performed at the sites visited in the prescribed format.
- To ensure compliance with the Safetell Health & Safety Policy. At all times protect your own and others Health & Safety, by ensuring that you have read the risk assessments and you are aware and understand all risks and control measures. You must understand the correct method of use for equipment and raise any issues or questions regarding safety with the Service Resource Manager
- To ensure adequate stock and tool levels are maintained in accordance with Safetell`s stock and tool holding policy.
- To ensure that company vehicles are regularly serviced in accordance with the manufacturers` recommendations and that all legal requirements (tyres, etc.) are complied with.
- To ensure maintenance of client branch security during after-hours visits.
- Not to disclose any information of a confidential nature to any other organisation or person which may have a detrimental effect on the business.


Objectives

- To increase technical knowledge by identifying areas that need enhancement and requesting further training where needed from the Service Resource Manager.
- To improve the quality of all work both technical and administrative.
- To cultivate good working relationships with all colleagues, recognising differences in character and showing tolerance.
- To exhibit a pro-active approach to creating change within the procedures we operate and the way we perform work, including full and positive co-operation at Service Meetings.


Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

- Must have a Full Clean Driving License
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- The ability to handle and resolve complex tasks
- Ability to use Handheld tablet/PDA device
- Good administration skills
- Willingness to travel UK wide.


Desirable:

- Previous experience in Electronics, Pneumatics/hydraulics & Auto Door operators (not essential)
- The ability to communicate at all levels


Salary & Benefits

- Salary of GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 per annum dependent on experience
- 22 days holiday + bank holidays, rising in line with service
- Core hours of 6.30am to 7.30pm, Monday to Friday. You may be expected to work outside of these hours to take account of emergencies, holiday cover and remote site locations.
- You will be on call duty 8 times a year to cover call outs from Friday evening 7.30pm to Monday morning 6.30am. Bank holidays shall also be covered as required.
