My client Design and Manufacture of safety critical equipment (Energy absorbers) for
A diverse industrial base and are recruiting a Design Engineer to design and maintain cost effective products compatible with customer’s expectations.

Design Engineers work on a project from the initial brief, through the design, development and testing stages, following the project through to final manufacture and implementation.

Job Description:

Work in accordance with engineering procedures.
Produce 3D models and detailed drawings.
Check drawings conform to standards and for engineering integrity.
Support Development and Test activity.
Product verification and validation.
Attend and occasionally lead Design DFMEAs.
Perform stress calculations as required
Carry out maintenance of design activity.
Maintain product integrity.
Deliver consistent performance
Provide Project leadership.

Person Specification:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (2.1 minimum)-Essential
Minimum 2 years post grad preferable in mechanical engineering design-Essential.
4 years experience using 3D Cad software-Essential
A minimum of 6 years post grad experience in manufacturing environment is highly desirable. Along with familiarity with Solidworks CAD,Finite Element Analysis and Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
