Responsibilities of Project Manager

The Project Manager reports directly to the Head of Design and Engineering and assists other members of the FYDS and FY teams.

You are to project manage a number of projects working across the group locations. You are responsible to ensure that the project tasks are clearly identified and tracked creating a live status report. You are to ensure that all stakeholders are clearly aware of potential project issues so that these can be dealt with before they occur. You are then to implement the agreed action plans to avoid the issue causing delays.

You will be the key lead in the FYDS team and will be required to help drive improvements through processes and increasing the overall efficiency for design and production throughout the group.

The role of Project Manager

- Create/Update and maintain planning reporting tools for each project to facilitate management of resources, timelines and deliveries and regular reporting to the Head of design.
- Prepare individual projects` budgets, FYDS annual business plans and funding requirements and present for approval of the Board
- Ensure adherence to approved projects` budgets and costs
- Conduct regular progress reviews with projects` leaders including assessment of any risks and issues potentially impacting timely completions or budget overruns
- Ensure timely and comprehensive contributions to the projects from key stakeholders within FYDS and FY.
- Ensure smooth coordination of overall activities of FYDS with relevant departments within FY (including: Finance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, HR, Facilities, Sales & Marketing)
- Ensure FYDS contractual documentation with FY and third parties is maintained in good order
- Provide full administrative support for the projects teams
- Carry out any other duties as requested.
- Support the Management team and Project Sponsor to identify and define project scope, requirements and objectives, assist with the preparation of project proposals, timeframes, schedule and budget
- Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
- Monitor compliance to applicable practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact daily with internal and external clients to interpret their needs and requirements
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel`s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities to project teams
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project sponsor and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and plans
- Liaising with managers and engineers to discuss the progress of the project, track and address any changes or issues that arise
- Ensure all project deliverables are met, initiating corrective actions where required
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to organize the phases of the construction development
- Produce tender plans to support bids
