Job Description

My client is an Engineering practice that provides expert consultancy, specialising in oil and gas, renewable energy and safety services. The practice is looking to recruit a Safety Engineer to their dedicated team that will provide answers to their clients’ oil and gas production challenges. This project based role will provide a workload that will include the front end areas such as: studies, concept and FEED project phases.

You will be required to perform safety and risk assessment work in support of our multi-discipline projects.

Reporting into the Head of Safety and Risk you will be part of a team that will be required to:

• HAZID and ALARP studies
• Qualitative Risk Assessments for new and brownfield development options screening
• Coarse review of impact of brownfield modifications on existing Quantitative Risk Assessments
• Hazards modelling – explosion, jet and pool fire, gas / smoke dispersion and separation requirements
• SIL determination, reliability calculations, Fault Tree Analysis and Layers of Protection Analysis
• Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Studies
• Safety systems design – F&G detection, fire fighting, PFP

Qualifications

• Chemical Engineering degree: (1st or 2:1)
• Chartered Engineer status
• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering for Oil and Gas facilities
• Minimum 3 years of Safety and Risk related work both onshore and offshore.
