Job Description

Based on the edge of this lovely North Herts market town, and with easy access to the A1, our client is a major international force in technical software publications and is growing consistently in all areas of their business. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting as soon as possible and ending December 2013, ALTHOUGH there is a good possibility of it becoming a permanent position.

You will take personal responsibility for the development of the sales of their bibliographic software products from incoming enquiries and through proactive customer contact to ensure that they grow in profitability within the overall company strategy.

Responsibilities:

To understand and define the market for the bibliographic products and to develop and action a clear sales plan that will deliver growth.

To maintain an up to date knowledge of the bibliographic products, their major competitors and the markets in which they are sold.

To ensure that agreed targets are met.

To develop, maintain and manage relationships with key customers and suppliers.

To provide ideas and customer feedback to improve our literature and future marketing campaigns.

To maintain customer records on the sales and marketing database to ensure they are up to date and accurate.

To arrange & attend events relating to bibliographic software.

To collaborate on production of support materials such as FAQs and website content.

To liaise with the suppliers and external organisations regarding licences/packages.

Skills and Experience:

Two years' sales experience, preferably in a similar field.

Good communication skills with fluent English.

Good understanding of libraries and their research function is highly desirable.

Education to degree standard or equivalent.
