Job Description

A commercially driven Sales Manager (£35k basic + Comms + car/allowance, uncapped OTE) is needed to cover the South of the UK for a leading UK manufacturer of high-quality 'well known' adhesive, polymer and sealant products for multiple markets.

Their extensive range of own label and private label products are distributed all over the world and comprise of high-performance instant adhesive (cyanoacrylate), anaerobics, acrylics, photopolymers and UV curing products for a wide variety of sectors including retail, manufacturing, graphics, cosmetics, medical, construction, household chemical products and gas distribution.

Field based, the Sales Manager will nurture and manage national accounts to maximise business opportunities, whilst forming new relationships with supermarkets and independent prospects to win and develop new business to achieve planned sales growth, particularly within the retail sector (DIY and industrial) with a 70/30 split.

Key Skills for the field based Sales Manager:-

- Proven new business development and Account Manager skills (30% new business development, 70% account management)
- Experience in the industrial retail sector, particularly DIY channel
- Knowledge of consumer retail business in UK and Europe
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with a creative flair

Sales Manager responsibilities:-

- Budgetary control and responsibility for category sales target achievement and profitability
- Managing and developing the product portfolio of established and newly launched private label brands to increase market penetration across South UK and allocated part of Europe
- Using market research to promote new product/packaging development, promotions, marketing collateral and communications
- Collaboration with internal departments to manage and report on costs, pricing, forecasting, launch, raw materials and stock holding for your brands
- Presenting complex product ranges and negotiating at high management/director level
- Home or office based covering the South of UK, Ireland and a suitable European country dependent on any language skills you may have (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, German and Polish would be very useful)
- Working at Northants head office at least once a week
