SENIOR POWER ELECTRONICS DESIGN ENGINEER

My client is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer to support the development of prototype and pre-production controllers for vehicle hybrid systems. You will be familiar with IGBT circuits handling 10 to 100kW.

Roles and Responsibilities
- You will be capable of optimising PWM-driven DC/DC converters for size and weight, designing inductors, etc.
- You will be skilled in testing and characterising circuits, able to certify your work before delivery to customers for their R&D programs.
- You will be comfortable evaluating and documenting your designs, showing aptitude in engineering analysis and written language.
- Experience with thermal issues and package optimisation is an advantage. You will need to work with mechanical engineers and subcontractors.
- The ideal candidate will be familiar with EMI shielding and signal distortion.

As my clients power electronics evolves through customer prototype and pre-production programs, we will need to expand our staff, build supplier relationships, and develop a design capability commensurate with the expanding demands of our customers. You will have the support of a talented and creative team, but you will push that team towards more refined designs, quicker development cycles, and more rigorous test methods. As a result, we will deliver more robust systems to our customers.

The salary range is 30-37k depending on experience. A company share options scheme may be available based on exceptional performance
