My client is a Global energy services company providing a wide range of Engineering, Production and Maintenance services to global Oil & Gas and Power Generation industries.

The Role

The Author will carry out Technical Writing services for the Industrial Services Division and will develop, manage and create quality controlled overhaul manuals and workshop procedures. With your key responsibilities your duties may include, but not limited to:

• Participate in developing gas turbine overhaul manuals and workshop procedural documentation based on the Siemens products
• Understand technology of gas turbine engines and translate overhaul procedures into an easily followed set of procedures
• Gathering, analyse and organise information to help in creation of overhaul and procedural documents
• Participate and perhaps lead creation of methodology and framework for overhaul documents
• Participate in initiatives to evolve engine overhaul documentation
• Organise and attend documentation improvement planning and implementation meetings
• Liaise with Engineering, Workshop and Field staff, both on site and with other UK based sites
• Some UK travel may be required to engine repair facilities to carry out reverse engineering of engine overhaul

The Person

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background of engineering reporting and documentation alongside workshop manual compilation in English. You will have familiarity with conventions in form, structure, and notation of technical writing and naturally be a strong communicator in both verbal and written form.

Also, alongside this technical ability you will ideally have experience of Siemens Gas Turbines.

You will be skilled in using MS word and basic photograph editing packages and experience of CAD packages is essential.
