Job Description

Our client are involved in the marine and oil and gas sectors and are looking for a technical engineer to join their team the role is a multi disciplined role and will involve but not be limited to;

• Support the development of new products and systems to meet the company’s short and long term plans
• Development of new systems to meet the requirements of specific major customers as directed by sales/managing director
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of competitor systems, standards and alternative technologies
• Complete testing of new products to prove product performance requirements have been met
• Provide technical support for large projects along with future developments including training
• Provide project support with regard to technical issues, including presentations and site meeting requirements for large projects
• Ensure orders are received by the company receive the appropriate contract review to ensure that the correct job cards, drawings, manuals and production instructions are issued to meet the customer requirements
• Produce reports on completion of large or bespoke projects of learning’s and possible technologies that be incorporated in current and future production portfolio
• Ensure accuracy and adherence to engineering disciplines and standards. Drawing control, drawing detail for manufacturing, system BOM’s and job cards
• Help scope potential NPD requirements and provide constant project tracking against deliverable
• Provide support with warranty and service issues

Must have:
A basic electrical knowledge
Good mechanical design knowledge
Good maths skills
Good communications skills
Ability to write clear and precise reports
Ability to read and understand RFQ’s including class requirements.
Be prepared to carry out onsite surveys/Installations/Repairs/Faultfinding.

Nice to have:
Knowledge of Bio-fouling or marine biology would be an advantage.
Basic Knowledge of corrosion.

Education:
Degree level or a high level of experience.
