Workshop Service Receptionist

Job type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Hertfordshire

Hours: 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Salary: GBP22,500.00 to GBP30,000.00 /year

About us:

We are a specialist company having established a very busy Saab servicing, repairs, restoration and spares company that has an outstanding reputation in the Saab field built up over the last 35 years.

We also carry out restorations on the older classic Saabs.

We are starting to grow our All Makes and Models, servicing and would like to continue the transition to the all makes and models market as the Saab market newer models decline, we expect the all makes and models sector to grow quickly as our customer look for newer alternatives to Saab.

We have 5 technicians working on the cars servicing and project cars as well as preparing sales cars.

Workshop Service Receptionist:

- The candidate should have worked as a mechanic or technician in a workshop. (Preferable)
- Must be well spoken and have a good telephone manner.
- Must have good computer skills excel, word and picture modification programs for adverts
- To be able to work together with the workshop team discussing worked booked in with the workshop manager and parts requirements with parts manager that would come from our extensive stock.
- To be able to discuss with customers in detail with a technical input, and an understanding of the customers` needs for their cars during the booking in period, organising loan car forms and seeing that all the customers` requirements are met. Documenting all details and making sure availability of loans cars and parts so when the customer arrives the work can commence immediately.
- Have an understanding of a `garage assistant system` We are using GA3
- Completing loan car forms, DVLA checks and ensuring that the loan cars are cleaned and mechanically checked on a regular basis. Checking cars on return and when they go out. Organising the delivery and collection of customer`s cars, collecting of urgent parts using our in house driver.
- Discussing with a subcontractor the recovery of non-running customer cars.
- Must be able to work to targets to maximise financial return from technicians.
- Ordering the correct parts from motor factors, being able to describe the parts required by the technician, sourcing the most competitively priced parts, balancing it with time scale of delivery. Price checking between different suppliers, building up a good relationship with all suppliers. Organising returns of parts not required and filling out warranty forms parts and labour.
- Car sales, making sure sales cars are cleaned, priced and descriptions written up for adverts on Ebay and other media outlets. Regularly organising for cars to be road tested and cleaned, working together with the workshop to ensure any mechanical repairs are carried out.
- Preparing job cards loan forms and other paperwork the night before for the arrival of customers.
- Reporting daily financial position to the directors of the company of how the workshop is performing, and how work in progress, is progressing.
